These terms and conditions set out the basis on which you may browse and use our website at www.seashells.net.au (the website). Please read the terms carefully before you use our website or purchase products. By browsing this website you are agreeing to be legally bound by the terms & conditions, our privacy policy, and our cookie policy. Note this website is not interactive - no SSL certificate required.
PRICING &
DISCOUNTS
Minimum Order
Discounts & Wholesale
We will include numerous free gifts and samples (which further help to offset postage cost). Applicable discounts largely depend on the conditions and prices we have to pay when buying our stock (many different sources). If you are purchasing for a shop / business, we will generally grant you free items for each order.
SPECIMEN SEASHELLS - 5% for Specimen Seashells orders of AUD 1000.00 (not incl. GST) and above in value. - 10% for Specimen Seashells orders of AUD 2000.00 (not incl. GST) and above in value.
While sales of really rare and expensive shells are negotiated
individually (sorry no discounts), many other
species do attract substantial discounts regardless of order
volume, described as
"wholesale offer" in our pricelists. We may also offer you additional discounts
if you purchase 10 (or more) of any listed item - and we will
generally grant free gifts with each order. This usually amounts to another
considerable discount, as QTY of gifts will increase over time
as we continue our business relationship with you.
Payment Methods - VISA and MasterCard payments - Electronic Funds Transfer payments (EFT) - Personal and business cheques in Australian Dollars (made out to Australian Seashells P/L) - Cash payments. - We accept INTL PayPal payments on request - ask us to send you a PayPal invoice for your order in Australian Dollars (3.6% surcharge applies). PayPal converts the invoice amount to your own currency, so you can pay our PayPal invoice as you like (USD, EUR, YEN, etc..).
Ordering Terms & Conditions I understand that Australian Seashells does not offer an extended cooling-off period for the items in the order and that this purchase is deemed a firm sale by the end of the same business day the order was placed (or the following business day until 12 PM Perth, WA time), if the order was placed after close of business of the preceding business day. I can contact the Australian Seashells head office by phone on 08 9409 9807 Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (local Perth, WA time) or 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM (AEST). I understand that once my order has been shipped, my options to return items to Australian Seashells are limited as outlined in the Returns Policy. We prefer manual ordering as outlined below instead of eCommerce / shopping basket checkout. This approach works best for natural objects like seashells (highly individual by definition) as it allows you to ask questions during ordering and we can ensure you can find exactly what you need. It also means that we can safely run our website without SSL / largely cookie-free.
BY EMAIL: To order from Australian Seashells via email to info@seashells.net.au (preferred option) please select from our entire website (you can mix & match all items).
- Copy desired item title, add QTY and ordering options, i.e. size, colour, bulk option (if applicable) into an email message window. - Check & review your order. Any deadline? Please let us know if your order is urgent. Any comments? Special requests? Please add them to your email. - Once finished shopping, enter your shipping information. We need:
1) Your first and last name 2) Your mailing address (PO Box is ok), incl. postcode 3) Your contact phone nr.
If all details are correct, send your email message.
Once we receive your request, we will reply ASAP with an offer incl. all shipping and payment options (usually within 24hrs). NOTE: You have 1 week to respond to the offer / info we sent you. Due to the large volume of requests we receive each day, your request may expire after 7 days and you may have to place a new order.
If your order contains items that require stock-checking or you entered an International delivery address, we will manually check for availability and shipping options, then contact you via e-mail ASAP to confirm details. In any case we will not complete your order or process your payment before you confirm and approve the offer.

Contact & Communication Australian Seashells is an online shop, so our primary means of communication with our customers is via email (i.e. we will reply to the email address you use to contact us).
Australian Seashells will not be
held responsible for any missed communication due to your email
address being incorrect. If you have more than one email
address, please advise which email address you would like us to
use to contact you.
In case of problems with your email
account, you can contact the Australian Seashells head office by
phone on 08 9409 9807 Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
(local Perth, WA time) or 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM (AEST).
Once your order has been shipped, we
may still be able to offer you online shop credit if you return
your goods to us following the guidelines in our Cancellations &
Returns Section, but this will not include return postage cost.
Online Shop Credit If your order contains an unavailable item, we will notify you and ask you how you would like to proceed.
We ship worldwide. Check if Australia Post ships to you - if they do, we will too! All our product prices include handling/packaging. Fragile shells may need double-boxing, etc. - but we will not charge additional handling fees for such items. We commence assembly and packaging of your order once we receive payment.
DOMESTIC SHIPPING Before we ship your order, a pro forma invoice will be posted, faxed or e-mailed to you with a detailed invoice incl. shipping quote to your destination.
STANDARD Delivery / Tracking We quote and ship your order by the most economical shipping option, based on cubic parcel weight. By default we ship via Australia Post (fully trackable, delivery against signature) charged at volumetric flat rates (max. 15kg per parcel). The Australia Post tracking system sends automatic updates to your email address as soon as the parcel is lodged, delivery time quoted at max. 5 business days Australia-wide:
EXPRESS Delivery / Tracking
Combined Shipping Cost We will automatically consolidate shipping cost for all items in your order. This means that if your order contains items that require stock-checking (i. e. Specimen Seashells), your order may briefly be on hold / delayed until we have all your items confirmed and available.
Economic Shipping / Large Shipments / Courier Delivery If your order exceeds total weight of 15kg (packaged) or a courier delivery i.e. via SENDLE or TNT looks like a better / more economic option for your order, we will offer this as well. Please note that (like all fully trackable couriers offering signed delivery), TNT and SENDLE require a physical street address (no PO Boxes!). Flat rate shipping via SENDLE for large orders may be considerably cheaper than Australia Post.
Domestic Delivery Times Delivery Special Instructions / Redirections Our default tracked Australia Post delivery option is against signature only. You can request redirection via the parcel tracking link provided prior to arrival. If a signature is required and you miss the delivery, your parcel will usually be held at your local PO and you will be notified via email, SMS - or via a physical card with pickup instructions left in your letterbox. Please advise if you need to specify delivery instructions for your shipment. We ship worldwide. All International orders are evaluated with care for each shipment to ensure we are quoting the best possible (most economical) and trackable shipping option for your destination.
STANDARD AirMail Delivery / Tracking We will quote International shipping via Standard Australia Post AirMail (Standard AirMail) by default. This service is trackable via www.auspost.com.au and delivery to most destinations worldwide is estimated at 6-10 business days.
EXPRESS AirMail Delivery / Tracking Please request Australia Post AirExpress shipping (Standard AirMail) if you would like faster delivery against signature, featuring automatic delivery updates. All parcels are also manually trackable via www.auspost.com.au and delivery to most destinations worldwide is estimated at 4-5 business days.

International Shipping - Issues
Incorrect Address or Delivery Details
Customers who provide addresses that
Australia Post have deemed as incorrect and/or have insufficient
details to ensure delivery may result in the following:
If a package is returned to
Australian Seashells due to the above incorrect and/or
insufficient delivery issues and incurs damage to the item(s),
Australian Seashells will make every effort to add extra protection to
resend the package once the extra delivery fee payments have
been made. We won't be responsible for replacing your damaged goods, but will contact you prior to resending your parcel to
discuss all your options.
Any shipment that is delayed or lost
and is found to have had incorrect and/or insufficient details
provided by the customer is not eligible for a refund or online
store credit from Australian Seashells.
Tracking Parcels
Australia Post TRACKING automatically
starts sending tracking updates to your email address as soon as your
parcel is lodged. If your shipping address is correct and
you have not received your parcel or either digital notification
(via email / SMS) or a physical card within
the appropriate time frame (i.e. 1 week for Domestic, 2 weeks
for Intl. delivery), please again check your email
/ SPAM filter for
Australia Post delivery updates. If you have not received
Australia Post or courier tracking details, please notify us, so
we can follow up delivery progress on your behalf as soon as
possible.
Missing / Lost Parcel
- Check with your local Post Office
or courier
for arrival of the parcel within 3 weeks of the parcel shipping
date, using the trackable consignment ID provided. In case you
missed delivery and did not receive or overlooked the
digital notification from AusPost or the physical card placed in your letterbox, please
immediately check with
your local PO or courier staff, as local delivery hubs will
generally only keep parcels for 2 weeks before returning them to
us.
- Contact the Australian Seashells
sales team via e-mail or phone with the information you obtained
from your local PO staff within four (4) weeks of the parcel
shipping date.
Mail Redirections
RETURNS & CANCELLATIONS
To cancel an order made by mistake,
or to upgrade your shipping to Express delivery, we can offer you
a short cooling off period. Please call our head office ASAP on
the same business day as you placed your order (or the following
business day until 12 PM WA time, if your order was placed after
close of business of the preceding business day), on 08 – 9409
9807 Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (local Perth, WA time)
or 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM (AEST). Otherwise your purchase will be
regarded as a firm sale and will be shipped to you.
IMPORTANT: Please check the item(s)
you received carefully as soon as they arrive and understand the
following return policy terms:
If you are returning an item for
online shop credit, please package the item with sufficient
packaging and protection (i.e. bubble-wrap and cardboard) to
ensure that contents do not slide around inside the outer
packaging (i.e. cardboard box) to cause damage (or any further
damage) to the returned item, especially if a
damaged item is the reason for the return. Keep your
original Australian Seashells packaging until you have made
contact with our head office or sales team. We do encourage you to
re-use the packaging that we have used to send your goods. If
you feel that the packaging cannot be reused for whatever reason
you will need to provide your own secure and sturdy packaging. This policy covers Australian Seashells PTY Ltd, ABN 35066393646, its online and retail business. Australian Seashells respects your privacy and is committed to keeping your personal information safe. As online shop, we will obtain certain customer information such as names, mailing addresses, contact phone numbers, email addresses and product related interests. This information is used to facilitate ordering, shipping and transactions and may be used for our own marketing purposes. We acknowledge that when you provide your personal information, you do so trusting Australian Seashells to only collect and use your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Australian Seashells will never disclose any customer information to any third party without your consent. Mailing List If you have subscribed to the Australian Seashells mailing list (via MailChimp), you may unsubscribe by following the instructions which are included in the emails you receive. Australian Seashells does not send unsolicited emails. Our email newsletter or any other notifications are sent only to customers or visitors who subscribe to mailing list options.
NOTE: The mailing list will be suspended during
the current website update. Previous
subscribers may have to sign up again once the mailing list is
